March 20, 2017 — At The Schwan Food Company, we recognized and celebrated the day we were founded this weekend. On March 18, 1952, a 23-year-old Marvin Schwan packed his Dodge panel van with 14 gallons of his family’s signature ice cream and set out to deliver it to families in western Minnesota. By the end of his trip, all 14 gallons of ice cream were sold and the Schwan home-delivery business was born.Each year we celebrate his historic trip as it set the foundation for becoming who we are today — a company with trusted national brands that is passionate about bringing quality foods to our customers.
Much has been accomplished since that day, but one thing remains the same. As a company, we continue to strive to bring Marvin’s vision and values to life so we may deliver and provide the same high-quality and delicious foods for our customers and consumers.
