Jeans help raise $36k for local causes

Jan. 21, 2016 — Sometimes a simple idea can make a big impact on people's lives. This has been the case with one of our local “Jean Day” programs.

Employees at our corporate offices in Marshall, Minnesota, raised more than $18,000 for local charitable organizations in 2015 simply by participating in our “Jean Day” program. That amount was matched by the Schwan’s Corporate Giving Foundation, bringing total contributions to more than $36,000.

The Jean Day program, which has raised nearly $1 million since it began in 1998, asks employees to donate at least $1 to a local charity when they wear jeans on Fridays. The funds raised are donated to organizations that align our philanthropic focus areas of hunger, youth and community.

We appreciate and thank all employees who participated in the program in 2015.
