Pagoda® snacks team rolls into Chicago with a giant ice sculpture

Dec. 20, 2016 — Our Schwan’s Consumer Brands team recently made quite an impression in Chicago, when they created a “Pagoda® Snacks Winter Wonderland” at the city’s annual ZooLights event. Our display featured a giant, Pagoda™ branded ice sculpture with fresh, whole vegetables that happen to also be the very same ingredients used in Pagoda® snacks.

This was the 22nd year that Chicago celebrated the ZooLights event. Held at the Lincoln Park Zoo, ZooLights is a free, family-oriented holiday celebration that features luminous displays with more than two-million lights, including larger-than-life lighted animals and seasonal features, do-it-yourself crafts and activities, ice sculptures, music and food vendors.

Weighing in at 5,400 pounds, the ice sculpture was made to look like a farm stand that would be found in a farmer’s market. The display encapsulated fresh, whole vegetables right within the ice in an artistic way to highlight the wholesome vegetables featured in the brand’s egg rolls. There was also a smaller ice sculpture shaped as a frame for people to take pictures and capture the memory.

In addition to having a mega-frozen display, our team also distributed more than 6,200 samples of Pagoda® snacks to event attendees. Many were shocked to learn the samples were not a restaurant product and something they could get right at their local grocery stores.

“We believe tasting is believing,” said Tarsha Rice, public relations manager. “We were able to point and tell visitors that these were the actual ingredients that can be found in our Pagoda® snacks.”

Thank you to all who stopped by our display at the event, and thanks to our team members who helped bring the display to life. A 5,400 pound ice sculpture and more than 6,200 distributed product samples is no small feat.
