Edwards Dessert Kitchen opens in Minneapolis' North Loop

This week, our company officially opened
Edwards Dessert Kitchen in the North Loop of Minneapolis.
July 26, 2018 — Our Edwards Dessert Kitchen is officially open for business. This ultimate dessert destination located in Minneapolis’ North Loop opened its doors to the public this week, and it’s creating quite the buzz among guests.

“We are excited to get our doors open to the public and thankful for the support of the many team members who have made Edwards Dessert Kitchen possible,” said Polly Madsen, manager of culinary initiatives. “The response from guests so far has been amazing. Edwards Dessert Kitchen is getting consumers to think about desserts in a new and elevated way, as something truly remarkable. Through Edwards Dessert Kitchen, and the creative leadership of Chef Christina Kaelberer, we will build our culinary credibility for Schwan’s.”

Our company announced we were opening a dessert kitchen this past May. Since then, our team has been pedal to the metal on making sure everything from the menu to the décor — which features a signature “Sweet Vibes Only” neon sign — supports Edwards Dessert Kitchen as the destination for a truly extraordinary dessert experience.

Led by General Manager and Executive Pastry Chef Christina Kaelberer, Edwards Dessert Kitchen is the ultimate destination for unapologetic indulgence, serving up modern dishes such as Miso Caramel Pudding, Vegan Passion Fruit Chocolate Mousse, Mango Coconut Crème Pie Puffs and Avocado Lime Sorbet. The menu features made-to-order options, a seasonal tasting menu and ready-and-waiting options for every dessert occasion.

In addition to the flavor-forward desserts, Edwards Dessert Kitchen also partnered with True Stone Coffee Roasters from St. Paul and Tattersall Distillery to provide locally sourced beverages for guests.

Prior to opening to the public, a “Friends and Family” event was hosted at Edwards Dessert Kitchen to thank our employees and partners for their support as well as get valued feedback prior to opening. Following the Friends and Family event, we also hosted a Grand Opening, where media, influencers and community partners were invited to get a preview of the new space and taste the decadent desserts. Mini versions of menu desserts that were served included the Miso Caramel Pudding, Strawberry and Crème, Caramel and Chinese 5 Spice Snickerdoodles, Mocha Tiramisu, Curried Scotcheroo, Salted Butter Chocolate Chunk Cookie, Mango Coconut Crème Pie Puff and Ancho Chili Caramel Corn.

Feedback throughout both events was overwhelmingly positive. Many guests shared that the Edwards Dessert Kitchen fulfilled an unmet need in the market — a great place to extend one’s evening after a night out to dinner downtown or pre and post cultural events. Guests were very impressed with the renovation of the historic space as a beautiful complement to the delicious desserts on the menu.

Edwards Dessert Kitchen is located at The Lowry building at 200 Washington Avenue N. in the North Loop neighborhood of Downtown Minneapolis.

Hours of operation are:

  • Tuesday – Thursday, 2 to 10 p.m.
  • Friday, 2 p.m. to 12 a.m.
  • Saturday, 10 a.m. to 12 a.m.
  • Sunday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Closed on Mondays.
